Welcome to Extralibera, the exhibition space that will lead you to learn about the mafia phenomenon and the connections between the different forms of crime.

Extralibera is an immersive journey, designed to be experienced alone even if you are in a group. In fact, those who visit the exhibition will immerse themselves in the contents thanks to the aid of headphones.

Through the exhibition rooms you will learn about some of the main criminal trafficking and you will discover how it is possible to contrast them, starting with everyday behaviors

An emotional journey

The visit consists of five main stages

Memory

This is the space through which you can reach the faces of the victims. They are victims of injustice, criminality and mafias. They are “living” victims, which speak to the heart of the ones who know how to listen. You will find an interactive table which lead you to know unfamous stories, vital to the fight against mafias.

The agreement

There is a wall where the names of thousands innocent victims constantly flow. You can choose a name and bring it with you during the visit. You will seal a deal of joint responsibility with it. After the exhibition, bring the name with you also outside ExtraLibera.

Flowers of commitment

The commitment of the anti-mafia movement gave led to many positive experiences: confiscated assets that have been socially reused, presidiums of people, social cooperatives, aggregation spaces. The space which hosts ExtraLibera is itself an asset “freed” from a criminal management. Find out where to meet these flowers around the world and make the spring bloom!

Luggage of knowledge

Knowing mafias means to be conscious of how active they are nowadays: where do they operate? Which consequences do they have on our lives? You will receive data and information through graphics. You will also have the chance to explore more using extra supporting material.

A common path

As you learn about the story of an innocent victim, you will approach the history of our Country and of the anti-mafia social movement. How can you add a piece of the story to what has already been built over the years? Complete the path and find a commitment to share!
